This is done, enabled on en only. It can be enabled on other wikis on
request.
Some people
will use that to replace their talk pages with technically
challenging content (e.g. two megabyte uploads, or pages filled with
hundreds of animated images). But I think we can deal with that in
the long run.
Lock the page if need be?
Yes, protection is the way to deal with this.
