I have no doubt that what you say here is true. I
simply have a difficult
time with telling anyone what they can and cannot say.
Is that always true for you?
In my work (which is a large part of my life) yes. In my personal life I
don't find words directed at me to be harmful - simply educational. Persons
teach me a great deal about themselves by how they express themselves.
Wouldn't this be an important part of your professional experience. A
psychologist who helps people to find their own solutions is bound to be
more successful than one who is always giving solutions to the clients.
