[[WP:ARBCOM]], he was an appointed
arbitrator for a very short period - I don't remember the
circumstances of his appointment. I never questioned it, though...
Appointed around the time he became a wikia employee. I think to
replace someone or grow arbcom one of the two.
The two things were of course entirely unrelated, and EssJay was
appointed at the request of and unanimous support of the ArbCom. (But,
some wonderful ArbCom members wrote to me later and apologized for not
voicing concerns, and we all have egg on our face in that fiasco.)
