I come at it from the opposite perspective. To have the article on
the 26-county Republic at [[Ireland (state)]] would be to gloss over
the fact that it is an incomplete Republic.
What, pray, is "an incomplete Republic"?
Compare the European Union. When new members are added, they are just
added to the article. The Irish state exists; if any or all of the
other six counties ever join the state, they would be added to the
article.
