Dunno most highways are planned several years in advance. Many road
maps do predate construction and are based on proposed plans. Please
let me help and and anything I can find I will email directly so you
can amend and edit :-) mike

A 1936 constrution would seem more fitting (ask

hoovers run off it?) I think that the earlier date is the proposal

they can provide will not be web linked. I can't edit the article
myself because it upsets my suggestbot. Mike
It's more complicated than that. The roads already existed; AASHTO
approved an extension of the existing US 322 over those roads into New
Jersey at some point in the 1930s. At least one personal site states
1936 as the year, but it often goes by commercial maps, which can be
outdated by several years.
What is probably needed here is a reference from AASHTO saying when it
was extended, something from one of the two states that marked the
extension, or a newspaper article about it.
