Actually the Arbitration committee at Wikipedia has at time accepted cases
but failed to come to a decision. No one has objected to that outcome.
(Actually courts have ways of shedding cases too).

Exactly. Judges become seized of a case and MUST make a decision based
on the facts and the available law. Politicians have the luxury of
waiting until the stars are right before they do something.
