really what's wrong with linking full dates?
It's not per se a *big* problem, but there are some issues.
One is that on a Wiki without date articles, you get redlinks. E.g. commons.
Another is that it means that the date articles are referenced by far
too many articles.
Another is simply too much of a 'sea of bue links' - unnecessary
linkage (a cosmetic and aesthetic issue).
