I think we did that when we were haveing problems with the google toolbar.
AFAIK we still do. There's the "Warning: you're editing a page over
35KB" stuff, as well as a template which instructs people how to fix the
problem (upgrade the Google toolbar). Can't remember the name of it but
it does exist.
