You realise this is just asking for {{sofixit}}, right? :-)
I do take your point -- I suspect this is something that didn't even
occur in any meaningful way to the people writing the articles, for whom
'West Indian cricketer' will mentally expand to 'cricketer who played
for the West Indies' rather than implying anything unsavoury about
nationality.
