Your logic appears to be "n people did a lot of counter vandalism
work, therefore n people do counter vandalism work". (n obviously
being constant)
I say that there are a lot of people doing a little bit of counter
vandalism work, and that these people form the basis of our
anti-vandalism functions. You have simply ignored them.

Not really. It is the people prepared to sit there hour after hour
dealing with stuff as it come through that forms the basis of our
anti-vandalism functions. Just as it is a relivity small number of
hightly active users who write most of our articles.
