Forgive this if it is too commercial, but I thought it would be of
interest to the group.
Some of you know me from Wikipedia Weekly, or Wikimania. I'm the
founder of
Mahalo.com, a human-powered search engine using MediaWiki
software. We're hand-writing the top 25,000 search terms on the web,
and today we expanding our program to include freelancers.
If you're interested in the project, we are paying $10-15 per search
result completed/accepted. Now, if like to work for free/fun we will
donate your fee to Wikipedia/Wikimedia foundtaion.
We've earmarked $250,000 for Wikimedia Foundation for the next year if
we can complete the searches.
[ Note: We can only pay in the US right now, but that will change
soon--we're working on the legal/payment issues. If you're outside the
US we can donate your fee to wikipedia no problem of course. ]
