Incidentally, I agree with you about Slashdot, and Britannica.
Perhaps a Wikipedia mirror - I know we don't particularly like them,
but it would be our own information.
There is nothing wrong with being a for-profit company.
Some mirrors are much more appropriate than others, of course.
Some we don't like for simple aesthetic reasons. Others because they
have been guilty of spamming. But in general, I personally love
mirrors, because that's what we want people to do: reuse our work.
