The change from "office hours" to "individual consultation"
has bothered me from the beginning, and I've finally reached
the level of sadness that prompts a message here...
Individual consultation can be great for the individuals
involved. However, it leaves the rest of the community out
in the cold, without possibility of benefit of knowing what
is being discussed, learning by lurking, etc.
So far as I've been able to discover, there are no minutes
or logs of such consultations, so there's not even a chance
to learn after-the-fact nor even to have a sense of what's
being talked about.
This makes me sad.
Of course, the Tuesday Noon ET time slot doesn't work well
for me anyway (it conflicts with the weekly call of the W3C
Credentials Community Group), but perhaps a new time slot
might be selected if Office Hours resume.
The web page says "We will evaluate the success of this
approach in mid-2023". It's now late-2023, but I see no
sign of that evaluation, so perhaps I haven't missed my
chance to make my voice heard.

Back in July, my colleague @Giovanna Fontenelle <gfontenelle(a)wikimedia.org> and
I held a *Future of Wikidata + Libraries Workshop* at the LD4 Conference
and had a great time learning with the amazing pool of ~200 participants.
To honor the lessons we learned from them in our workshop, we have prepared
a six-blog post series with *librarians' **favorite **Wikidata **projects
and tools, *but also the *challenges *they face and the *future *they
envision.

Wishathon is a new initiative that encourages collaboration across the
Wikimedia community to develop solutions for wishes collected through the
Community Wishlist Survey: <

community edition will take place from *March 15th to 17th, 2024*. You can

Since May 2022, the Community Tech team has organized five Wishathons <
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Community_Tech/Wishathon> internal to
Foundation staff to bring greater technical capacity to address open wishes
and promote collaboration on wishes within the product & technology teams.
Since the inception of the Wishathon, Foundation staff have helped
Community Tech complete work on 10 wishes that were otherwise stalling or
incomplete. This next edition of the Wishathon extends to Wikimedia
contributors as a next step in these efforts.
If you are interested in a project proposal as a user, developer, designer,
or product lead, you are welcome to join the event! If you wish to take

The Data Modelling Days

place last week, with an estimation of 80 participants throughout the three
days of the online event. May discussions related to modelling and
organizing data on Wikidata happened, together with presentations, raising
issues, new ideas and suggestions on topics as diverse as living heritage,
gender, EntitySchemas, conflations and duplications, Autofix, references,
modelling data on a brand new Wikibase instance, and semantic web.
