Hi,
I'm not sure that it was discussed already. If it was discussed,
please point me there. I read the Technical proposal and the
translatable pages on Meta and couldn't find it there.
Is there any concrete plan to start the migration of the current
interlanguage links to Wikidata storage?
For example:
* The interwiki bots' will definitely have to be modified for the
Wikidata age. Did anybody start a conversation with the operators of
these bots?
* How will interwiki conflicts be handled? Judging by earlier
discussions, I suppose that Wikidata will just let pages with
conflicts work as they always did, but this is an important issue that
should be answered in the FAQ.[1]
* How will bots identify pages that use Wikidata?
Maybe the answer to all of the above questions is: "The Wikidata
developers intentionally want to leave these things to the editors
community". If it is, then this is fine. It is even hinted in the
Technical proposal. But it should be written more explicitly, so that
the communities will actually start to work on that. Again, if
somebody already started it, please point me there.
Thank you!

Heya folks :)
We updated the demo system again. It'd be great if you could give it
some testing. Especially the client and repository working together
nicely is something that needs testing now that we're getting closer
to deployment.

We've also gone through all our bugs today and marked more tasks that
volunteers can help with. If you're working on one of these please
leave a comment in the bug report so everyone knows what's going on.

Heya folks
This hasn't made it to this list yet sorry. The Hungarian Wikipedia
community has stepped up to be the first one to use Wikidata in
production once we're ready to deploy the code. They rock :D
We're keeping track of the deployment plans here:

Result: after some explanations we have 26 supporters in addition to 3
initiators/starters, and no opposers. (22 of them in the first 24 hours.)
As I wrote earlier, this is an enthusiastic community. So huwiki is looking
forward to test Wikidata. :-) Let's do it!

Hello all,
we finally have published our first draft of how Wikidata phase II
will be published in RDF. Comments are very welcome, either on this
mailing list or on the respective talk page.
<http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikidata/Development/RDF>
The document is, due to the subject matter, quite technical. If you
are looking for a less technical introduction, feel free to read
<http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikidata/Notes/Data_model_primer>
instead.
Cheers,
Denny

Yes, this will be done in phase 2. Phase 1 (which we are currently finishing) is
only about interwikis. Phase 2 will cover almost everything you can find in
infoboxes today, including population data.

I don't see difficulties if is made sure, that two additional fields belong
to every information in Wikidata: a license field and a citation field,
with the regulation, that one of these must be filled, otherwise Wikidata
does not accept this edit.
Which of the both additional fields is filled, lies in the responsibility of the editor.
In addition it must be provided, that it is impossible to take over
any info without such - filled - additional field into any Wikipedia.

Hi there,
did anyone think of possible copyright restrictions on the use of
external data within wikidata? I am not sure common public sources of
data are usable right away... seems like copyright works the same with
data as with any other "work"... Sure, many organizations throw data
into public domain, but it definitely is not an industry standard yet.

On http://wikidata-test-repo.wikimedia.de/wiki/ I saw mostly pages regarding interwiki's. Are there also examples about how the data for the population in certain area's is added/represented?
A central project for (also) such data would be very welcome, so we can easily update this information. (This data is connected to identifiers by individual area.)
I hope the project is aiming to make this easier too.

On https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikidata/Notes/URI_scheme#Proposal_for_Wiki…
I am missing the arguments why Wikidata needs the multitude of URI
forms. The list needs commenting and arguments why
"URIs should be canonical within Wikimedia projects"
is given up.
----
(Of lesser importance, I wonder why the internal opaque ID has to be
prefixed by a letter (Q) - why not a simple number?)
----
At them moment I believe a choice should be made between:
http://{site}.wikidata.org/wiki/{title} and
http://wikidata.org/title/{site}:{title}
but perhaps the argument why both are needed could be added.
----
On the issue of interlanguage/interwiki linking, I believe the
semantics should not be opposite in Wikidata and Wikipedias, see my
comment
