Dear All,
This is a quick note to announce that our article titled "The distorted mirror of Wikipedia: a quantitative analysis of Wikipedia coverage of academics" is now officially published by EPJ Data Science: http://www.epjdatascience.com/content/3/1/1
A draft of that has been previously featured in:
Wikimedia research Newsletter: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Newsletter/2013/October#Wikipedia.27...
The Atlantic: http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2013/11/does-your-professor-ha...
Huffington Post: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/08/wikipedia-professors-study_n_424114...
And some of you had made great suggestions to improve the article, specially Paolo Massa, whom I thank again here. Further comments and feedbacks are more than welcome.
best Taha
Hoi, Would it be possible to use the data you compiled as information for Wikidata .. If it makes sense to have Scopus references in Wikidata.. that can be organised (if this is considered to be relevant information).
Obviously as more work is done on Wikidata more scientists will be identified as such. This world is a connected world so you may find that there are hardly any statements with information but there are some statements referring to external sources like VIAF or Freebase. Thanks, GerardM
