neverendingo made a nice video of userbase.kde.org activity with CodeSwarm's WikiSwarm, visualizing mainly translation activity thanks to the Translate extension: http://vimeo.com/56486573 https://code.google.com/p/codeswarm/wiki/GeneratingAVideo With about 300k edits and a few namespaces (and a bot) filtered out, he got a 28 MiB log file and it took 2 days with 24 threads to generate. (There's also https://github.com/jamiew/wikiswarm/ for single pages, using the API.) Is someone willing to play with this to make some nice videos for our Wikimedia projects? Maybe some smaller wikis to start with, but en.wiki could be feasible with enough CPU power, http://dumps.wikimedia.org/enwiki/20121201/enwiki-20121201-stub-meta-history... (which I hope would be enough to import in MySQL?) is 37 GiB and the activity log could be about 50.
