I removed the blocking SHM segments and restarted the tirex master. The main question is: why has it crashed.
Last time I monitored the crash live, it looked like thea OOM killed it, bus as we have no munin graphs about memory usage, there's no way to tell for me..

Which OS is ptolemy? If it was killed by the OOM, it should have been logged by syslog, including memory used by the process at the slaughter time.
Hello, ptolemy is running under: Oracle Solaris 10 9/10 s10x_u9wos_14a X86
I try to look at syslog of ptolemy. Answer: cannot open `syslog' for reading: Permission denied: Fileinfo: -rw-r----- 1 root sys 4.6K Aug 9 04:07 syslog
