Today I got an email from PayPal notifying me that the payment I made
for Wikimania had been returned. It said something about it having to
be manually confirmed, and that that had not happened, so I got the
money in return. This is obviously not the way it is supposed to be,
so I wonder what I should do about it?

Sorry if this has been answered already,
but could someone give a rough estimate of when we can expect the videos
from the sessions in Gdansk?
Sincerely,

Hi all,
Following from my recent email, I would like to invite people to put
themselves forward who are interested in serving on the Wikimania 2012 jury.
Please find <http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimania/Jury> which is a list
of general requirements.
However In short:
* Please make sure you will have some time to be involved in the selection
process, especially between January 1 and the first week of March.
* People who have attended Wikimania or who have greatly contributed to a
strong bid, or who have run other Wikimedia events; and who are otherwise
involved in the Wikimedia movement are preferred.
* There will be a representative of the board, the advisory board, and the
WMF staff on the jury. The other members should be an even mix of chapter
and non-chapter people; and the jury as a whole should be geographically
diverse and have a fair representation of both genders.
* If you are going to be contributing in a large part to a bid for 2012, you
are not advised to put your name forth for conflict of interest reasons.
If you wish to be involved in the Jury, please email me at
josephseddon(a)gmail.com
Many Thanks
Joseph Seddon
Wikimania 2012 Bidding Coordinator
Dear all
Just wanted to make a quick announcement. Following the departure of Cary I
have volunteered to coordinate the Wikimania 2012 bidding. I personally
only see this role as temporary thing since I would like to see the numerous
discussions on a permanent wikimania advisory group come to fruition as
quickly as possible. In terms of what my role description is, it will be
similar to what Cary has done in previous year which is to form a jury, set
the timeline for the bidding period, to ensure that the bidding process
remains a smooth and efficient process and preferably run to schedule.
I have already made adjustments to the bidding timeline and hopefully Ill
have the jury formed within the next few weeks. Following this email, there
will be a call to the community for people to put themselves forward to join
the jury along with a timeline for the upcoming bidding period.
If anyone has any questions feel free to drop me an email to:
josephseddon{at}googlemail.com
I look forward to seeing another round of bidding filled with fastastic high
quality bids.
Yours
Joseph Seddon

They deceived us! They said videos of presentations and talks, etc. will be
released, but they never did. And they don't even respond to our questions
about them here.
We don't want the "edited" and directed versions! Just release the thing as
it was and it will be fine. But maybe you have deceived us!
