Hi All,
The registration of Wikimania 2007 is going to open in recent days. Thanks
for [[zh:User:笨笨的小b|Littlebtc]]'s working on the registration system. Now
the system is almost done, and need debug and pressure test. Therefore,
please test the system:

If you have any question please don't hesitate to let me and Littlebtc know.
His email is sst.dream(a)gmail.com.
Many Thanks.

I redid a couple of the posters from last year (they were made too
late to be used for publicity, but I think it's early enough this
year).

Zotero requires use of Firefox 2.0, the latest version of the popular
open source web browser from the Mozilla Corporation. If you don't
already use Firefox or haven't yet upgraded to the new version 2.0, go
to http://www.getfirefox.com to download it. Once you've installed it or
upgraded your earlier version, go to the Zotero site to download and
install the extension for Firefox 2.0.

Subject: [Internal-l] Wikimania 2007--the dollars and cents.

Hello,
Wikimania '07 may seem far off, but from an organizational point of
view, it's right around the corner.
The Taiwan team has done a great job, but now it's time for the
community to step in to make this the best Wikimania yet. While much of
Wikimania's costs are covered, we still need help to raise enough money
to ensure that this is truly an international event, with
representatives from all of our communities.
With that in mind, the Board has asked me to work with the Taiwanese
team to raise the necessary funds, and to coordinate the international
effort to get things rolling. I believe that this should be an
international effort, and sponsors should be found from around the
world. While I will coordinate this effort, I need *you* to help. If you
have ideas or know of people/organizations/corporations that might be
interested in sponsoring some part of Wikimania, please let me know. If
I can do anything to help you approach these people and groups, please
let me know too.
Let's face it. I am not as multilingual as some of you, and it would be
silly of me to approach companies in Europe, South America, or Asia when
we have perfectly capable people in each of these areas--you! I will
work locally on obtaining sponsorships, but I will also coordinate the
efforts elsewhere. This is especially important, so that different
people do not contact the same organization again and again and again.
With a coordinated strategy, we can do really well.
Please email me any ideas you may have, or post them here for further
discussion. I look forward to hearing from you.
Danny (isme)

It's the insurance for wikimedians who want to join Wikimania when he/she is
in Taipei. Of cause you can use a fake / invented number but you will not
get the insurance from the insurance company if there is something
unexpected happen when you are in Taipei.
We will apply the travel insurance for every wikimedian or anyone who
registered to join Wikimania. And the passport / National ID is the
requirement from the insurance company in Taiwan (maybe in other countries /
regions also?)
Travel Insurance (information only, the actual insurance content might be
offered differently from our insurance company):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travel_insurance
I will ask the Taipei team to see if we can put more details on the
insurance on the Wikimania site.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
Just going through my way on Wikimania website....
It is unclear to me who is in charge of sponsorship.
According to the site, it is KJ.
But Frances wrote us on the topic, though she is listed as PR.
Can someone check this page is updated
http://wikimania2007.wikimedia.org/wiki/Team_and_Volunteers
It would be much easier for relationship :-)
Thanks
Anthere
Dear Anthere, and all
Thanks for your encourgement, it's quite inspired before the Chinese New
Year to Wikimania Taipei team.

It will need more volunteers during the Wikimania to keep the venue and
accommodations working well. We've already began to solicit the volunteers.
But now we have to focus more on the registration.
As Damian Finol said, the registration should be done faster, and we have
into the final test now. We'll try our best to do this.

It will be great helpful that we have all of you the support and give
advices to us.
Thanks again, and Happy Chinese New Year~

Yes, and we are trying harder to make it work.
We are now trying to setup the registration site, and we will do it ASAP.
Thanks and regards,

Thanks for your kindly encouragement. I believe with helps from the
foundation and many other Wikimedians this Wikimania event will be more
successful.

Yes, I agree.

Yes, I think that would be great.
At the present time Daucter will be the venue manager. And yes we are
looking for more volunteers to help him.
