Could we get an update on when we're likely to get a result? I have
potential suppliers wanting to know if we're going to go ahead with
the order or not - I told them I would know if the conference was
going ahead on the 16th and they are now chasing me up! I would like
to be able to tell something more than "soon".
I don't blame the Jury for needing extra time, the bids are very close
and I don't envy their decision, but some idea of how much extra time
they need would be helpful. Thanks!
Looks like no one sent a message here yet. :-( The Call for
Participation for Wikimania 2009 has been extended: the new date is
April 30, 2009. Please submit your papers!

Also, remember that scholarship applications are also open until April
30! <http://wikimania2009.wikimedia.org/wiki/Scholarships>

Dear all,
I know the bidders for Wikimania 2010 are probably very impatient and
excited, but unfortunately, I don't think the Wikimania jury is going to
come to consensus by tomorrow on which bid should host the conference. We
are going over every point of each bid according to these criteria:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimania_2010/Judging_criteria
and there's a lot of information to work through.
Bidders, please congratulate yourselves on all producing strong bids --
there is not an obvious choice :) I'll try to keep everyone updated on the
timeline, (which probably should have been changed a long time ago to
reflect how much time it takes to talk about the bids).
thanks,
Phoebe (wm jury moderator)

There appears to be no way of submitting discussions though. The only
options in the form are presentation or panel. Am I missing something?
I've done mine by selecting presentation and noting in the info that
it's meant to be a BOF (those do exist this year don't they?). Hope
that's ok!
