It wasn't an exact analogy; I was just musing.
But if pressed: the "other party" is anyone who runs for RfA, and
the "stonewalling party" is that group of RfA regulars who (AIUI)
keep inventing new litmus tests and hoops to jump through.
(Their platform would be, "keep raising the bar".)
FWIW, I wasn't trying to accuse you of being a stonewaller, or
even an RfA regular. (I don't follow RfA; I don't know who the
players are.) But, whatever your motives were or weren't, it's
a safe bet that "Do you now or have you ever used an open proxy?"
is going to be a new stock question going forward.
