Yes. A play-by-play account of the plot is not a "summary" by any definition I know. Just go through it and cut it right back. I would say a summary of an episode of a TV series should be 2 or 3 paragraphs at the absolute most.
Slightly OT but what about editors give a blow by blow account of a book not yet published that is based on an Advance Readers Copy. There is absolutely nothing in policy or guidlines about ADC, and I ended up deleting the text on WP:OR grounds because it isn't published. The same article was ticketed later that day for just summarising the book. The Summary was the worst written thing I have ever seen and must have been 25kb long!
