It should not do. Where is the absolute prohibition on correcting
errors of fact on an article about yourself?
A newcomer--the type of person most likely to be concerned about problems
with their own article--is not going to think "oh, it really strongly
discourages it, but it doesn't absolutely prohibit it, so I guess I'll do it
then".
To anyone who is not a pedant who has been around for a while on Wikipedia,
that COI policy says you can't edit your own article, regardless of whether
its prohibition is not absolute when you look at the fine print.
