Point out the original source of the uncropped image. It's trivial to
determine that cropped X is a derivative of uncropped Y, and thus we
can treat Y as the source of X.
Point me to the original public domain image. I'll crop it and remove
the antenna sticking out of his head, and release my copyright on the
modification to the public domain.
