We (and they) are in a rock-and-a-hard-place
situation. It's
good that they're working from their own stashed copy instead of
hitting us live, because I doubt our servers could handle their
users' load. But of course on the other hand it's supremely
annoying that they're working from their own stashed copy,
because (as you note and I emphatically agree) our lovely
instantaneous wiki-quick edit-save-test loop is broken.
As to updating their stashed copy more often, there's not much
way we can ask them to do that when our own dumps only come out
on a 2-4 week cycle. :-(
I agree that having live updating would be well outside the realm of
what we or Google want or are willing to pay for. Maybe we can do
something to get back to a weekly dump schedule? Preferably on
Google's dime? ;-)
