The same could be said about the move to AFD - it was bound to create "dissent and distaste". I was merely being bold and using the "use common names" policy.
The name "Votes for deletion" violated a major part of [[WP:NOT]]: "Wikipedia is not a democracy".
If articles are to be deleted, and they are not copyvios or CSDs, the community will try and come to a consensus.
(Personally, I think blocking SPUI for this (for 24 hours) was a bit harsh. I'd have reverted everything, wait until 3RR was broken, and then add the whole incident to [[WP:LAME]]...)
