Well, I saw the colon was there already, so assumed I could put something after it. Perhaps the message should be changed to "...number of hours and minutes..." to make this clear to those less prone to experimentation than myself?
You can also use a decimal point, e.g. -1.5. It used to be that you could only enter an integer, but I fixed that about a year ago. Changing messages is a hassle, it's never going to get changed in all the other languages unless you go to a lot of trouble.
Actually once messages are changed in English they tend to propagate through the rest of the languages.
