Sourced breaking news is still breaking news. What I'm talking about is this trend away from the idea that Wikipedia should wait until something is published in major news outlets, and toward the idea that it's great when we can scoop said news outlets. If that's the case, the maybe "What Wikipedia is not" should be updated. That's all I'm saying.

Course not. As long as we can cite sources, we should try to include breaking news into our articles. [[Andrea Dworkin]] shows it's possible to actually beat the media while still sourcing stuff.
