Of late, admins have been happier to put 24 hour blocks (after a warning!) on purveyors of egregious personal abuse - particularly in edit summaries. Second offense, triple the block.
Continued this way, JBOC would, after his seventh bout of egregious personal attacks, be blocked for *two* years ;-)
