Thanks everyone for all of these wonderful words. It was a difficult experience that I am
grateful (as crazy as that seems) I had experienced and grateful to be here in Austin in
safety. I was a bit too dense to know how scared I should have been at the the time of
the storm; this density can be a mixed blessing. If anyone has connections with any of
the hurricane gods or others, please put the people, plants, and animals out there on the
Islands in your thoughts and prayers. Maria has grown to a Cat 5 storm. May some
miracle happen and she be taken to sea where she can do no more harm.
