There are a couple of repeat scenes from prior videos, notably the “Cookoo” song, but that performance deserves an encore and a loud “Bravo!” I wish I could say the jittery nature of the video was my intent to achieve the hand held effect of cinema verite’, or that I was trembling with excitement while taping, but it was just poor technique on my part. Sergio did the best he could with what he had.

Well, it's me, old SOS, etc. There are so many things I'd love to cover before my mind drifts again. I wanted to ask Doc for that "Old Wrinkles" pillow back. Obviously he doesn't need it - I'm the one who needs to wear their trousers rolled. At least I understand that line now. Mustaq's letter was so true. Looking at Doc's video, I saw what a young man he still is and those eyes - how they twinkle indeed! No doubt full of dreams yet taking form. So wonderful to see Doc so hale and hearty! In truth, he has never looked so healthy and happy. It was a lovely day! To all the folks who took the awesome pictures and videos, thank you ever so much! So many treasured moments. The grandkids each with their own unique qualities and of course, the incomparable 'Just call me Bill'. I want to thank all the players who helped me up and got me through my lines, it's a bit fuzzy; however, I was so touched by the magnificent esprit de corps that is such an integral part of Winedale. In looking at the calendar, Doc, I realized that you and Willie are only eight years older than Bob Dylan and Dylan is only four years older that me... For me that brings Willie's song to mind, 'Ain't it funny how time slips away', but for you, I'd definitely have to dedicate Dylan's words 'May God Bless and Keep you Always'... One of my greatest Winedale memories is the big group of local folks singing German songs to welcome us, at Ronnie's bbq the first evening, under the big oak tree…

I recall that our very own Michael Barker has a wonderful story about his German connection to Doc and Winedale . . . . .

Well, hell, if we're going to stray on the subject of the German language:

P.S.: I will always treasure that Tex-Deutsch accent.

Straying from the topic a bit, but (to me) you can't have much more fun with German than this:

Hey Clayton,
Now that I can hear again (and by the way, I'm getting a second cochlear so sometime in October I will officially become a person with normal hearing) I have been trying to re-learn German.
As part of my quest I'm going back to Berlin in about two weeks to visit Am Heggawinkle, the street where I grew up, and to visit the Berliner Ensemble to pay hommage to Heiner Muller with whom I worked on his play Mauser when he was in Texas.
If I can get the hang of the language again, let's brainstorm together and make up a variant of it just for Winedale!
One more thing-- I'm in London now and due to have tea soon with Gail Palermo McDonald! If anyone else is due to be in London between now and June 18th please let me know. We can meet for a pint and work on that dialect.
love,
Terry
