Dear fellow Winedale alumni,
One of the plans we have for celebrating the 40th anniversary season
is to have former students perform short scenes on the barn stage
before the Saturday and Sunday performances every weekend this
summer. We would love to have every year of Shakespeare at Winedale
represented, and to do a scene from every play in the canon.
Several people have already requested particular plays, but there are
still plenty left available. Any former S@W student is eligible to
participate. Scenes should be fairly short, say 5-7 minutes (you can
make cuts as needed). The performances will be informal--no need for
costumes and props unless you want them--but it would be best if they
were done off book.
Here is a list of the plays we would like people to sign up for, and
the schedule of performances. Performances will be at 1:30 before
matinees, and at 7:00 before evening performances.
So please, find a couple of friends and sign up for a scene! It will
be a great chance to do some Shakespeare in the barn, and either
revisit a favorite scene or explore a new one! Please send requests
to Angela Barratt, abarratt(a)mail.utexas.edu, who is helping Liz in the
office this summer and coordinating this event.
