Hello everyone,
For those of you in Austin, I wanted to let you know about an event
Shakespeare at Winedale is presenting at 7:00 tonight in conjunction
with the University's Texas Institute on Literary and Textual Studies.
We are giving a staged reading of Christopher Marlowe's 1592 satirical
masterpiece The Jew of Malta in conjunction with this year's
Institute, which is on the theme of 'Religious Conflict in the English
Renaissance.' The readers are all S@W alumni. The reading will be in
the Prothro Theatre in the Harry Ransom Center, 21st and Guadalupe.
It is free.
The Spring Winedale class is also connected to the theme of the
Institute, focusing on conflict and belief in Shakespeare. We will
perform The Merchant of Venice at Winedale on April 30 and May 1.
Tickets are available through the website, www.shakespeare-winedale.org.
Please come to either or both events!
Thanks,
James
Tina O'Neil Hageman ('89) has been located, thanks to Valerie Malone. With
her permission, I'm forwarding her email to the list.

Hi Mike Godwin! Thanks so much for all your efforts on this reunion, and
for finding me!
I am now in Dallas, as a director of services at a nonprofit domestic
violence agency. I am happily married and have 2 beautiful, personable and
wise children aged 10 and 8.
I was just this afternoon talking about Winedale to a coworker, as I always
refer to that life-changing experience for me...if I could succeed at
performing Shakespeare as a college student, I can do absolutely anything!
I'll look at my calendar and hopefully join some of the reunion events, and
hopefully see you there.
Fondly,
Tina O'Neil Hageman
AKA Hodge (Shoemakers Holiday), Sylvia (Two Gentleman of Verona), Jessica
(Merchant of Venice)
Winedale class of 1989 - I had to look up the year!
Tina, it's wonderful to hear from you! May I forward this note to the
mailing list?

For those who haven't read Hilary Mantel's Booker-Prizewinning novel, WOLF
HALL, here for your delectation are the quotations that begin the book:
"There are three kinds of scenes, one called the tragic, second the comic,
third the satyric. Their decorations are different and unalike each other in
scheme. Tragic scenes are delineated with columns, pediments, statues and
other objects suited to kings; comic scenes exhibit private dwellings, with
balconies and views representing rows of windows, after the manner of
ordinary dwellings; satyric scenes are decorated with trees, caverns,
mountains and other rustic objects delineated in landscape style."
--VITRUVIUS, De Architectura, on the theatre, c. 27BC
"These be the names of the players:
Felicity Cloaked Collusion
Liberty Courtly Abusion
Measure Folly
Magnificence Adversity
Fancy Poverty
Counterfeit Countenance Despair
Crafty Conveyance Mischief
Good Hope
Redress
Circumspection
Perseverence
Magnificence: an Interlude
JOHN SKELTON, c.1520
I read both these quotations and of course couldn't help but think of
magnificent interludes in the Barn.
--Mike, your Crafty Conveyance
Dear Mike,
Like everyone I'm terrifically grateful to you for pulling this
together. Can I ask a favor? I think you got my email address
(getsharpe(a)sbcglobal.net) from the Winedale Group in Facebook. I
actually use Facebook as a professional/business platform, so that
address is my business address. My social address for all my friends
and relatives is ernie-s(a)sbcglobal.net.
Can you change me on your list from the biz address to the
other,i.e. ernie-s(a)sbcglobal.net?
Many thanks and I look forward to meeting you at the reunion.

Dear Windalettes!
I hope that you are all well and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone come
August. I apologize for the mass mailing, but for those who know me, I
wanted to give you a heads up to listen to "All Things Considered"on NPR
today. They are running a story about "my baby" - Philagrafika 2010, an
international contemporary art festival in Philadelphia. Below is also a
link to our website for anyone that has an interest in the strange and the

Cheers!
