Yes, but the problem is that I think the majority of
users would like to edit in the x-system and view in
unicode. Currently, it is not possible to do this.
For example, in most internet cafes (where I do some
of my editing), I want to view the text in unicode,
but there's no way to type in unicode. In this old
system it did not matter if people typed in x-system
or unicode, it always works. Could we carry this
functionality over to the new software? I know
Unukorno also wants this functionality.
Jes ja, sed estas penige farigi al la programo tion fari, do mi
flankenlasis gxin intertempe... mi denove restarigis gxin, eble per ioma
kosto je mia menssaneco. ;) Bonvolu elprovi gxin.
Ankoaux eblas, ke oni elektu X-an _legadon_ per la preferoj, sed
(denove) ne plu eblas redakti "pure" Unikode: la teksto de la nuna
artikolo konvertigxas X-en en la redaktilo, kaj la Xajxoj konvertigxas
Unikoden kiam konservitaj; ne forgesu do aldoni sekvan Xon kiam vi
tajpas "Linux" aux "Bruxelles" a.s. T.e., plimalpli same je la antauxa
vikiprogramo.
Se oni efektive deziras "pure" Unikodan redaktadon, tion mi ankaux povus
reebligi.

Right, but that's a pain to get the software to do so I left it for
later... I've got it stuffed back in now at perhaps some cost to my
mental health. ;) Bang away at it and see if it breaks.
You can still select X viewing in the user preferences, but there's now
currently no way to do "pure" Unicode editing; the text of the current
article will be converted to X-system in the edit box, and the special X
sequences will be converted on input, so remember to add a second X when
you type "Linux" or "Bruxelles" or whatnot. Ie, pretty much like on
the
previous software.
If there's demand for "pure" Unicode editing, I can add that in too.
