There are working examples in progress, namely the Final Fantasy articles, which have organized information into units that can clearly meet WP:WAF (and are therefore notable). Like I said, the entire point of this rewrite is to unite notability and WAF while providing ways to deal with non-notable fictional subarticles and whatnot.
