Firstly, please don't "should" on us.
Secondly, if the deletionists and banners have their way in preventing the come-one-come-all community that are here, ready, willing and able, trying to quickly build an encyclopedia together (not tear down each other and each other's contributions), then Wikipedia will probably NOT be a wiki, either. Funny, but Wikipedia was the main reason-to-be for the MediaWiki Foundation, and they don't seem to know what they've got, nor remember how it got there.
Thirdly, and most importantly, thank you for http://www.lolcatbible.com/ - ROTFLMAO!

Why not?

Technically, Wikipedia is (and almost certain, always will be) a wiki. It may be a wiki that it is very difficult to edit and get that edit to stick, but it's still a wiki. I have no idea what you mean by you last sentence. Do you mean the Wikimedia Foundation? There is no MediaWiki Foundation. I still don't know what you're getting at, though.

Hear, hear!
