Please take a look at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Kathmandu_Unive...
Should we, as I suggest there, cut a bit of slack for artciles about something in the Third World, or do we just accept the "no reliable third party sources for notability" mantra. It is just a stub and the information seems well supported by the external link to the School site. Not perfect, I agree, but I do not suppose Kadmandu newspapers are searched by Google and that is not perfect either. I would welcome views in general on this sort of thing, without asking any of you to intervene in that discussion for deletion.
Brian
Common sense would counsel cutting some slack. We do for [[Citizendium]] (And [[Wikinfo]].

Given the various hoaxes we've relating to that area of the world basic credibility requires otherwise.

This is all the more reason why Wikipedia should hold onto the snippets of data that can be roughly verified. Providing articles for the limited infrastructure in third world countries promotes a clearer picture of the country so that tourists and/or investors can better judge what is realistic, as opposed to having to rely on opinions that may be commercially tainted. Careful monitoring can ensure that outrageous claims are not made on the article so that it gravitates towards a well sourced article over time.

No soup for you!
It pretty much comes down to whether you believe there are more good people than bad people in the world, in my opinion.

If there were no sources, I would agree with you, but in the case I asked about, it seems highly unlikely that the School's own web site is a hoax. It would be a very elaborate one if it was, and to what point. The slack was for third party sources. One problem is that the web site for [[Kathmandu University]] is not responding at the moment. It probably talks about the university owning the school, which would be another source.
Brian.
