I think it was probably due to my own boyish good looks. A friend of mine from high school phoned a couple of days ago to say that he had just seen me on television. Apparently one of the TV networks did a brief story about l'affaire Essjay that included some stock footage from Wikimania 2006, and there I was in the middle of the shot, sitting in a conference room and typing on my laptop.
If their footage had been of someone else, they'd probably have ignored the story completely. Those TV reporters...so shallow...sniff... ;-)
