Yes, this drop is mirrored by newyorktimes.com. But what websites pick up the slack and increase traffic over the weekend? There must be some as there is an actual drop in rank, not just usage.

I don't see the problem? This is normal fluctuation that occurs in Alexa all the time (look further left in the graph). This same drop is happening to all other sites (just type a few domain names in the box under the graph). I doesn't really say anything about Wikipedia's popularity or reachability.
