Theresa McKnott and her friends have conspired to keep me banned, for more than a year since my original ban expired; now, that I am not banned in any way at all, they still persist in maintaining their petty vendetta against me and my supporters. How can this ridiculous situation be brought to an end?
Even though I am not banned, they have changed my password and thus prevented me from logging in; meanwhile, they routinely delete any and every comment I make anywhere on Wikipedia, no matter how civil or reasonable I try to be, which thus prevents me from addressing and/or rectifying the situation. It is time for the heavy-handed administrators to adopt basic rules of procedure, for which they are punished when they violate them; my latest edits were clearly not trolling, nor were they disruptive or of a vandalizing nature -- therefore, to block my IP is obviously unwarranted.

See [[Wikipedia:Dispute resolution]]. If it's specifically an admin action, you can try the admin noticeboard, otherwise you can try RFC, mediation or, as a last resort, ArbCom.

How? The only way they could have done that is if you gave them your password originally (or made it easy to guess). Admins cannot change passwords (sysadmins - that is, people with direct access to the server, can, but they wouldn't do so except under exceptional circumstances).

I would at this point like to point out that there are very few people with access to the servers, all of which can be trusted not to do this sort of thing. It is likely that you have either forgotten your password, or someone else has guessed your password, and changed it.

Hi there,
I noticed your message to the unblock mailing list.
I know Theresa is an incredibly trustworthy and fair administrator and I cannot, under any circumstances, imagine a situation where Theresa would involve herself with a group of editors and conspire to keep any editor banned, let alone changing your password.
If you could supply some details about your IP address and your account, I will certainly investigate the situation and try to ascertain what the problems are.

This is the user previously known as User:Lir, who has done his extensive ban time and wants to come back. His IP was blocked as well, and Theresa unblocked it already. Hopefully he can work with the Wikipedia community better this time around, and be given a fair shake.

Can we get Brion to reset the password and e-mail address for Lir then, or would we rather Lir create a new account ?

This whole "they changed my password" thing makes no sense at all - I'd like to know what's going on before asking a sysadmin to reset the password/email address.

It's very likely Lir's password was changed, since it was compromised, partly due to my own thoughtless actions. Lir can now have his account back any time he likes, but he appears to be prolonging the issue, perhaps in an attempt to settle a score against me, or to stir up conflict. See the recent discussions on my talk page and Theresa Knott's for the background:
