I just developed this since I have on multiple occasions wanted to see if an IP address was part of a range block. I've been unable to find anything like this as part of the MediaWiki software so I hacked one up:
http://layla.chrishowie.com/~chris/checkrange.php
For testing purposes, this is an IP that's part of the Scibaby range block:
http://layla.chrishowie.com/~chris/checkrange.php?ip=76.64.38.92
Comments welcome.
There is this one:
http://tools.wikimedia.de/~krimpet/rbhelper.php?db=enwiki_phttp://tools.wikimedia.de/%7Ekrimpet/rbhelper.php?db=enwiki_p
Which is linked on [[Special:Blockip]] but it doesn't appear to work, at least sometimes. Last night, I was attempting to find a range with that tool and could not, however I just checked the same with your tool, and it works.
Great!

Only thing that has extra is interwiki, which I may add at some point.
In case people were wondering, my tool does its work in one hit to the server so it is pretty efficient even though it's not on the toolserver. (I don't have an account.)
There are many people who do, and can run this for you (points to self). With proper attribution, of course.

It should be fine where it is for now. I don't imagine the load will be heavy enough to drag anything down -- even one request per second would be ok and I doubt it will even be one per hour.
Hey, that's a great little tool, Chris. That will be really handy for unblock-en-l.

That's why I wrote it. :) Got tired of taking stabs in the dark.
I'll send a link to that list too.

This looks useful enough to the general public, i.e. anyone using the MediaWiki software, that it should probably be added to the software itself. Please consider submitting a patch, or extension, or hook, or whatever.

The tool has been updated. It now also looks for blocks on the IP itself and correctly links to autoblocks against that IP.
