whilst I'm here and incase anyone missed it, back in Sept. the uk's Guardian did a piece about wikipedia. I found it very useful when trying to explain what it was all about to my mum - who's curious, but not entirely down with the lingo/ideas yet

The Observer actually (some company owns it); this was mentioned on this list. And the week after a friendly paragraph in Spark, a pull-out magazine, from one of the papers we get.

Eek. That wording makes it sounds as if Wikipedia is Linux's encyclopedia, not the net's encyclopedia.
