So far it is just a Foundation. Adding a central repository for images would simply be another Wikimedia project (just like Wikipedia or Wiktionary) that would happen to be hosted at the wikimedia.org domain. And it would also be neat to have a WikimediaONE login whereby all logins are managed at the wikimedia.org domain and logging-in once means you are logged-into each Wikimedia project.

that site?
A cyber-squatter bought wikimedia.com last month! I'm really p*ssed. But I do own wikimedia.org (which would be the only URL we would use anyway) and will transfer ownership to Wikimedia as soon as it is able to accept it. In retrospect I should have bought the .com at the same time but I didn't think anybody would bother buying the .com domain since I thought cyber-squatting died-off with the tech bust.
Now that we have a corporation with the name "Wikimedia" that does give us a leg to stand on if we contested the squatter's ownership.
Jimbo - we should plan on eventually trademarking Wikipedia, Wiktionary and Wikimedia and have those trademarks owned by the Wikimedia Foundation.
