That's not true. I never said anything about "conflict of interest." Maybe Joe did, but I don't remember anything along those lines.
I *did* say that an absolutist policy of removing all links to "attack sites" is a form of censorship. I don't see how that is "making it personal."
As for ratcheted rhetoric, I think Jayjg's own rhetoric has been fairly intense, but I imagine he would dispute that.

I did mention that specifically (it's no secret that Jay & Slim are probably the biggest 'targets' over on WR), but I don't want to escalate this snippy little and useless exchange between myself and Jay. I agree with Sheldon, David, and others that an iron-clad approach is pointless, and will only draw ever-more attention to whatever it is you wish to suppress. When your mother, growing up, told you to not look at something, what was the first thing that you wanted to do? Human nature alone makes an all-or-nothing implementation ultimately more trouble than it will ever be worth. The moment someone edit wars over a link being included, or whether or not it is or isn't an attack site, will require everyone review the link to support one side or the other.
Sorry if I annoyed anyone; my spin-control detect-o-meter went through the roof yesterday and I should have just let it slide.

As I said, I find their claims about me more amusing than anything else. For example, I'm perfectly fine with them insisting I am a teenager - as long as my mom doesn't find out and cut off my internet access again. ;-)

Lengthy posts accusing me of "framing", "trapping people in this loop of hate speech", "obfuscating" , "advocating censorship" etc. cannot help but "make it personal". I think if you view this dispassionately you will agree.

No, I don't dispute that.
