That's equivalent to saying "you need to get sources for the result of a
particular
mathematical calculation" or "you need to get sources for how to translate
Morse
Code". I already provided a source about how to translate hiragana; you can
look up the furigana yourself if you want to. (Ironically, there are several
different romanization systems... and none of them affect this particular
word.)
(I'm curious what you'd even think a "heavy duty very well regarded
source" *is*
for pop culture.)
And as someone pointed out, if an article were directly sourced using a
book that was written in Japanese, we'd accept it without asking for a source for
their translation. Translating a single word is a lot easier than translating
a book.
