When looking at an editor's contributions history, deleted edits do not show up. That makes it a little tricky to find proof of editors who create multiple (speedied) attack pages or other contentious and quickly removed content.
Is it worth raising a feature request to add a "show deleted edits" as with articles? Guy (JzG)
At the very least, it would be handy to see the presence of deleted edits. Whether or not you should see their content is debatable...

Brion is currenlty working on a facility to extend the definition of "deleted": http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Bitfields_for_rev_deleted
This will presumably enable the handling of deleted edits on contributions summaries in new and exciting ways :-)

I don't think there can be a debate about it really. If deleted edits are publically viewable, then personal information, libelous claims, and copyright violations would be stored forever, for all to see. That's exactly the opposite of what we use deletion for.

Very true. The only case where deleted information could be made publicly available would be AfD for NN etc.

Anybody with sysop privs can see a person's deleted edits by looking at deleted pages known to have been edited by that user. Assuming that the current policy of admins being allowed to see deleted edits is one we want to keep, then what's wrong with allowing admins to see a user's deleted contribs through the Contributions page rather than the Undelete edits page?

If the new system is to be used for all deletions, then nothing. Under the present deletion system, quite a lot.
At present, revision of deleted pages are actually moved to a separate table, and it would be a lot of work to recover them simply for a contributions list.
If however Brion's new feature (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Bitfields_for_rev_deleted) gets working, it would be feasible to do all deletions the same way, in which case those revisions would become accessible.

It does indeed help, and my day wasn't bad, either. It had not occurred to me that there would be a significant technical barrier to the proposal (although it should have).
Thanks.
