Google Mail also has killfile functionality provided by filters in any JavaScript view, in case you never want to receive particular messages to begin with - right up at top next to the search button.

If I'm not mistaken, you could even selectively ignore people, using a filter something akin to this:
Matches: from:(lunasantin@gmail.com) to:(wikien-l@lists.wikimedia.org) Do this: Skip Inbox, Delete it
In this case, emails I sent directly to you would still get through, but I believe posts I sent to wikien-l would be deleted before you had to deal with them. A slightly more elaborate filter could handle multiple to/from addresses, but this is a start.
