News items are starting to be published about the Jordanhill Station article, some more heavily reliant on the official press release than others. http://tinyurl.com/jvw2s is the link to the Google News list.
The article itself is rather over-egged for one about a suburban railway station, but it is heart-warming to see that the first photographs in the dawn light of a new day have been added after a lot of discussion about copyright usage of images found here and there on the web.

The TechWhack article is by far the best of the lot I've seen. But yeah, it's great to see the media are picking up on it. Who's the poor Wikipedian who's going to get overworked by doing the article on media coverage for the signpost?

Heh. You write that one?
Actually, I think it's the weakest, from a journalistic viewpoint. I realise it's from a PR database, but I don't have a lot of respect for journalism that merely repeats or paraphrases the PR. I like to see a bit of skepticism and investigation on the part of the media outlet. Good stories need conflict and tension, and your average press release is pretty one-eyed. --~~~~

I'm not sure what you mean about over-egged. I think it's great - there is actually a history of the railway station. This is not random trivia or excessive detail imho. Where else would you go to find that out?
Anyway, there are a huge number of articles about stations out there (the Singapore metro network is particularly well covered). Just a pity most don't have this attention to detail, number of sources etc.

That's what I mean about over-egged for an article about a suburban railway station. It would be great if '''all''' articles about such places had the same level of detail. Great if you're a nut about railway stations, I suppose. Knowing the number of parking spaces at a station is probably more than I'll ever want to know.

I agree - car spaces change all the time anyway. It just happens to be the sort of information which is frequently readily available on train operators' webpages...
