Some of you may have noticed that, seeing my name nominated for the mediator committee, I posted a comment on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Mediator/candidates If that comment isn't clear enough, I want to be especially clear about this: 1) I have not been following the list-serve discussions closely lately, for a variety of personal reasons. When I saw the "proposal" for this committee I (incorrectly) assumed that it is an idea you all have been kicking around; I also (incorrectly) understood "mediator" to refer to Jimbo, not to another specific user. To whatever extent my comment on that talk-page is positive, it is because of these incorrect assumptions. 2) In that comment I expressed my own wariness at any anonymous, institutionalized, committee of mediators. For the record, I agree entirely with Ed and Jimmy's recent comments. If this proposal is the work of one user (let alone a formerly banned one), and was not the product of a considered discussion on these pages, I think serious action against that page should be considered.
