I think that it should stay protected for at least a few months after January 20th, if not stay infinite.

The bulk of the vandalism has, let's be honest, always been pissed off leftists.
I am cautiously optimistic that they are mostly not very pissed off right now, and that, when next they are pissed off, they will find new things to be pissed off about.
I would guess that we can unprotect it today and it will merely be another above-average frequency target for vandalism.

You reckon? I think it's generally bored high-school kids, just like the vast majority of vandalism. His is just an exceptionally prominent article.
I'm not sure it makes a difference to the argument, though. And as Thomas says, unprotecting can do little harm.
